In a crossfire between police and armed criminals, a wanted gangster from Bihar was killed in the Simbhaoli area of Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh early Monday.

The joint operation was conducted by the Noida Unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF), in coordination with the Bihar Police and the Hapur Police.

During the operation, the gangster sustained a bullet injury in his chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Dablu Yadav, a resident of Sahebpur Kamal under Begusarai district, Bihar. Dablu was a notorious gangster and the main accused in multiple heinous crimes. He was wanted in a high-profile murder case in Bihar, and there was a reward of Rs 50,000 for his capture.

According to ADG STF Amitabh Yash, in the police records, Dablu Yadav was the registered leader of gang A-121 in Begusarai. On May 24, 2025, he orchestrated the abduction and murder of Vikas Kumar alias Rakesh Kadam, a social activist and block president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM party). The victim was taken to a remote riverside (diara) region and buried under sand after being killed. An FIR dated 25 May 2025 was registered at Sahebpur Kamal Police Station under Sections 104(1)/3(5)BNS, later updated to 103(1)/238BNS.

In total, 24 criminal cases have been registered against Dablu Yadav, including murders, robberies, and extortion, among others. Large quantities of illegal firearms, ammunition, and other incriminating materials were recovered from the encounter site.
